book study procrastination

HAPPY 2012!!!

I must admit I am not as happy as
my 3 exclamation points indicate

I am CURRENTLY pouting about going back to school tomorrow!!!
YUCK and we got a phone call from
the new principal reminding us to read our chapter for our book study
YEPPERS book study
YEE HAW a book study assigned in December
YAY
(pulling the string to my last popper.....**~**( ~* confetti *~ )** ~**....
S*A*R*C*A*S*M (my friend)
I only had to read one chapter
BUT did I???
NO
I DID NOT!!!

I really was going to but
I forgot what chapter I was assigned
I left the book at school
I LOST MY BOOK

we were given the book at
back to school PD
and I put it away
(wasn't told I would need it in DEC)
well I put it
some place real good
because I CANNOT FIND IT!!!
am I sweating bullets over this?
not really
do I know that I can download a copy off of the district's web page...
(fingers crossed)
NO I do NOT know this...
I am assigned to a wonderful group of teachers
that I am sure have read the book
I mean I have the cream of the crop group...
I am hoping that my PowerPoint skills will outshine the fact that
I have not read the chapter
I am thinking they can tell me what to write and I can whip it out fast and PURTY
I plan on taking my 8GB thumb drive full of digi scrapbooking yumminess!!!
Don't you think this will be OK
I am having some slight guilt now
BUT I haven't pinned today
so I might have to do that first and then maybe just maybe go and look at the book
MAYBE...

and 2 more things
OK 3

ONE ~
 no CURRENTLY right now...
YES there will be a January one
I was working on it tonight
and then I started thinking
EVERY STINKIN TEACHER
is going to have the same answers
see....

  2. Oh my, you sound like me...from the needing more vacay and dreading that vacay is over :( to the Erin Condren planner!!! I can't wait to see what people say! :)

  3. Give it to me now!

I completely feel for you. School stinks. I don't want to go to school. I go back on Wednesday - if we did extra professional development over the summer, we get to go back Wednesday when the kids do. Which means I will be completely unprepared because I'm not gonna get there earlier than maybe fifteen minutes early. If I'm lucky. Cause waking up is really really really hard.

  5. I have an Erin Condren Life Planner and LOVE!! I do not have the Teacher Planner because I like to type my plans instead of writing. You may want to check to see if One King's Lane.com has a half price voucher for her site. They do periodically! Good luck!! I don't think you will be disappointed!

  6. OMG! I ordered the Erin Condren LIFE PLANNER for the first time and I should get it this week!!!!!!!! I can't explain how excited I am. I decided not to wait until summer when I usually buy my planner (the ones that start in July). I think they are a bit pricey at $50 but its a new year and I deserve it....right? I just figured with all the money I spent at Christmas what's another 50 bucks to keep me extra organized and PLAN MY LIFE!

I go to school tomorrow too and instead of looking over any curriculum or doing anything I should be doing, I am blog hopping!!! LOL!

    Happy 2012!

  7. Not to sound too "teacher-y" but I love your posts because I can hear your "voice" in your writing.

I think the teachers are worse than the kids. (Or yet, the most talkative ones, like myself, become the teachers.) I love how we can creatively come up the best excuses, in a second flat. Have you read Baloney (Henry P.), it's a very funny book.
I love how we can tell the kids to be quiet at lunch, but our lounges are the loudest in the school. LOL!
Happy New Year and have a fabulously first day back of the new year!

  9. Unfortunately, I ended up with two copies the book my district is doing their book study on. I can't ever, ever use the "I lost my book" line. ;) I go back tomorrow too! Sad, sad, sad day.

  10. I have a PD book I'm supposed to read to and had really really good intentions of reading it over the break. It has moved from my desk, to my bag, to my car, and has not made inside my house. Eeek...maybe it will come out of the car tomorrow. In my defense though this is the MOST boring book ever...The Art and Science of Teaching by Marzano who I know officially hate because of my district. Uhh where did my break go! Good luck finding your book!

  11. is it sad that I was so over the OD from my school that I kinda said, eh oh well it was only for one credit?! now what if a kid had done that?!

I love my erin condren planner. I just have the planner NOT the LIFE planner. but its just so pretty. You can order it whenever you want. Your calendar will begin with the month you order it and go for an entire year, for example, I order mine in July so it goes from July to July. Hope that helps. Can't wait to hear what you decide on.

  12. I have the life planner and LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I bought it in September and they gave me the rest of 2011 and all of 2012, all for the same price as if you just bought a 12 month one. I will never buy from another place. It comes with all kinds of fun stickers and extras I didn't even know I was getting! Again, I LOVE it!

  13. Now I NEED the Life planner and Teacher lesson planner ... and maybe a lucite tray. Hmm... Where am I going to find an extra $175??? I wonder if next year I can use lead $$ on the lesson planner? Yeah, probably not.
Thanks for introducing us to Erin and for reminding me that I also have a book study I am slacking on.

  27. Girl, yes. Erin. Holla.

I ordered mine back in November cuz Plum District had a discount! So I got mine (Nov-Nov) for like $20 instead of $50, cuz I'm the coolest person ever.

Oh, I don't get the lesson planner b/c we are required to type our plans into Eduphoria, and i'm sure as...not going to write/type them twice.
